Strawberry Field celebrates unique minds for Neurodiversity Celebration Week
We're taking part in Neurodiversity Celebration Week, 17-23 March, with a series of events for employers and the public to celebrate achievements, creativity and inclusion.
Our brains are wired differently, and this affects the way we think, communicate and process information. Neurodiversity Celebration Week celebrates the 15 to 20% of the population who have a neurological difference such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, or dyscalculia. It is important to harness the strengths and talents of neurodivergent individuals, this helps to build confidence and self-esteem, and ensures individuals are given the opportunity to flourish in their day-to-day.
Alan Triggs programme manager at Strawberry Field said:
"We look forward to recognising and celebrating unique minds throughout Neurodiversity Celebration Week. At Strawberry Field, we start our celebrating neurodiversity week by hosting a graduation for 38 people who have completed our Steps at Strawberry Field programmes, which provide a person-first approach and support individuals to reach their end goal of employment, volunteering, or a qualification. As the week unfolds, we are hosting an employer forum and a staff breakfast learning session to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion both and Strawberry Field and with our business partners. Plus, we will also have some creative events around movement and art which we hope visitors to Strawberry Field will enjoy!”
Check out what's on throughout the week for the public to come along to!
